I think this is exactly what happened, since as I type this I have another tab open, and on that page is an eBay listing where some scalper has two for sale at $60 a piece.
I am utterly livid. If I was simply beaten to the punch by honest collectors who were faster than myself, that would be one thing. That, I could live with. But no, I may have missed my chance only because of greedy scalpers.
Is there any way to plead for more of these? Who would I have to bow before and beg to make more of these?

While I'm still sad for the Noel Nendoroid not coming back into stock, I am glad about the Rachel figure. Though I still say anything Makoto related would take priority .. or a jubei plush .... or Tao ... or Torakaka..

Nendoroids are apparently pretty popular. I can see additional Nendoroids being available considering how popular these Noel ones were. This was the first I'd ever heard of them, but they seem to be a big hit in a lot of places.
