   I live in Europe and I imported the Japanese version of Blazblue: Continuum Shift. Today I found out that Valkenhayne's unlock DLC is available to buy on the Japanese PSN, so I went and bought him.
   Unfortunately, Valkenhayne is still locked out on the character select screen. I've bought region specific DLC for imported games in the past so I thought it would work fine.

   Is there a solution to this or does it mean I'm basically frozen out of DLC packages completely, since I have a copy of the game from outside my region? Because that would suck a lot.

   Okay, let's see if I understand...

   You live in Europe

   You bought the JP BBCS

   You bought the JP Valkenhayn unlock

   If I didn't mistake anything, you have a problem with the download. Sadly for you, you can't get any support from Aksys because they don't work with the European region nor the Japanese version of the game. I'd say your best bet would be to contact Arc System Works, the makers of the game.

   Might you have the Asian version instead? It's generally cheaper to import Asian versions over JP, so many opt that way. If it's got a CERO rating on the bottom left of the cover then it's the JP version and I have no idea what the problem may be. Otherwise you likely have the Asian version and would need to download from that region (Hong Kong maybe?).

   sometimes there is a problem during the download of the dlc
   try deleting it a download the update and dlc again

   If I recall DLC doesnt work if its Diffent region The Games and DL"Games" are region free but any DLC addons to those games are locked to region of the system

   Thats actually pretty rare. Not saying that couldn't be the same in this instance but I've never heard of a JP game that didn't work with the DLC from the same region.

   My recall cames back from more Earlyer days PS3 too so if it was case may changed I never goten any DLC addons for any Few Imports I got
   But was something I read long time ago guess just outdated info now

   Double check the version of the game you have.

   If the version you have has ONLY Japanese voice/text, a tag on the back labeled "FOR JAPAN ONLY", and a CERO rating on the front, you have the Japanese release.

   If the version you have has English and Japanese voice acting with English/Japanese/Chinese/Korean subtitles, and says "FOR HOME USE ONLY" on the back, you have the ASIAN version.

   I can confirm that the Asian version is 100% identical to the US version (I own it, borrowed the US version off my friend to make sure that save files, the install and all DLC are cross-compatible with both).

   So, if you have the Asian version, you can get that DLC from the US, Canada, Hong Kong, or Korean stores.

   Unfortunately, the Japanese DLC you already bought is useless.

   rebel, that sounds correct. I'll have to bear my mistake and just get Valk later, off the US store.
