Marvel vs Capcom 3 roster prediction

Alright, so, we know the game will have 42 characters, 21 on each side. Will have roughly 22 new characters, equating to 11 on each side. We currently have 26 characters confirmed, with 14 being new, meaning we have another 8 new characters, 4 on each side, to confirm. And there are 16 more slots, 8 for each side.

So, that means that we have 4 new characters and 4 returning characters per side to have revealed. I propose that the roster will look like so, with the 4 remaining returning characters to reveal being bolded, and the 4 remaining new characters to reveal having bold, italics, and underscore

NOTE: These are not the characters I WANT in, just the ones I EXPECT in, i'd have a LOT of re-making to do to the roster if this was who I wanted in, and I really had no idea for the Marvel side so I just filled in women since I know there have been oceans of tears over how lacking in women the Marvel side is:

I honestly doubt we'll get four more SF characters - the only reason MVC2 had so many is because they could reuse the Alpha sprites. My guess is M. Bison and one other SF character. As for Frank West, that would be nice, but I could also see them doing Chuck. I'm not really sure Roll will be returning - she was something of a joke character as-is, although Megs is a given. I really hope that Zero doesn't get in - he was broken in Tatsunoko, and he really isn't as cool as people make him out to be.

Either way, I'm content - I got my Wesker, Amaterasu, and the unexpected surprise of Dormammu, so I have my team. If I could choose one more character from each side, I'd go with Date Masamune (Sengoku Basara) for the Capcom side, and the Porcupine for Marvel. Although both are extremely unlikely...

I was saying who I believe will be in. If it was who I wanted, i'd want Talbain, Date Masamune, Vergil, Moon Knight, Blade, and Hawkeye

Yeah, Wesker and Amaterasu are reason enough for me to get excited about this game. I'd like to see Jill returning to the franchise, if only so I can play around with an all-star Resident Evil team. I think Cable, and either Ken or Bison will be on the final roster, but I hope there aren't too many more SF characters.

Capcom seems to think Americans love Frank West or something. I guess it's cause he's covered wars you know. But my ultimate 99% impossible dream character to have in there would be Phoenix Wright. Using evidence and Objections! to take down the opposition would just be... amazing.

Capcom seems to think Americans love Frank West or something.

They're right. Although Chuck Greene would be pretty cool too.

Using evidence and Objections! to take down the opposition would just be...

Yet another gag character that you would only use for five minutes just for the novelty.

Never heard much fanfare for Trish, either, and yet here we are.

Touche, I don't really understand the inclusion of Trish over the far more awesome Vergil.

What I like about crossover games is when they introduce me to obscure and wacky characters i've never heard of before, like Jin Saotome

Also, they're not adding four more Street Fighter characters, get that mess out of here.

I moreso think they will add at least 3, because Ken would be easy to do for them, Bison for the "SF villain" according to the guy writing the story, and Akuma to fit both villain and easy to make roles.

Counting the number of squares on the character select screen won't get you far. Capcom has said that the select screen they're using for the public presentations isn't the final one so that people wouldn't be able to count the slots and guess how many characters.

Ken and Akuma are very unlikely because they have stated that they're not using clone characters. That means no War Machine, as well.

Aside from all that, your list seems relatively plausible.

I figured they added Trish just so Capcom would have a new girl on the team. Ammy doesn't really count I guess.

Nah, i've never heard hate for West until TVC came out. And while I can tell you're being sarcastic in the capitalized part, I wonder if you're one of the ones who was completely against the notion that Vergil could be playable.

Who is only a clone of Wolverine via storyline purposes, and plays absolutely nothing like Wolverine in-game. Stop jumping to conclusions.

Actually, I always imagined he would play similar to Jill or Cpt Commando from the previous MvC titles, using an array of things from the series to fight with (Physch Locks, Steel Samurai, Fransiska Whip, Oldbag's presence, Godo's coffee, Trucy's magic tricks) and only actually using "Objection" for one of his super moves. I love the series so it certainly wouldn't be a novelty to me.

I thought it had to do more with representing DMC 1 as Dante is from 3 and and fans of one tend to not be big fans of the other. It could also be that Devil May Cry is one of Capcom's more popular franchises so they felt the need to include more than one character from it. I honestly thought Lady/ Mary would have been a better choice as she would play a lot more different than Dante. I did get to play this at NYC Comic Con this past Friday and I can say that I personally found Trish a lot more fun to play as than Dante, she's a lot more agile and straight forward.

The only Street Fighter character I see getting in at this point is Zangief and that is only because he was in the original MvC and Capcom doesn't have a large grappler on their side yet. The only other one I would want to see is Juri because she is my bride.

It's a Fez.

I'd love to see a Capcom vs SNK 3, with Juri vs Kim Kaphwan. The Yin and Yang of Tae Kwon Do. Plus Kim's reaction at an evil TKD user would be hilarious to all hell.

So, Phoenix would have to use every other character's signature item in order to have a viable moveset. That right there is a sign that he really shouldn't be in the game.

Besides, if he was in, the fanboys would probably just end up complaining about his voice actor or some other trivial -your mother is a classy lady-.

There is no reason he couldn't have default punches and kicks, I was only referring to his specials. Jill and Cpt. Cammando did the same thing, I fail to see why Phoenix should be any different.

Yes, because I have certainly shown that I am that nitpicky. Really, the guy has 3 spoken lines of dialogue in the entire series, I doubt anyone would care what he sounded like.

Jill and CapCom had the actual characters (or in Jill's case, generic zombies) as strikers. You're suggesting that Phoenix should just outright use Fransiska's whip.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but every time a character gets confirmed for this game, there's always a bunch of twits who just have to complain about the voice actor they hired. If Phoenix was confirmed tomorrow, the exact same thing would happen, and you know it.

Beyond everyone else, Capcom should put in Gene from Godhand. I know he's deconfirmed, but a man can dream he comes out for DLC. I'd love to see Cable come back with the costume he used recently before he died, so that way I can have my Cable and Deadpool team and take in the laughs.

Head in the clouds, feet on the ground and everything in between is somewhere I know not.

Seriously though, it's bad enough that Magneto was confirmed, the last thing we need right now is another excuse to never play ranked matches online.

Yeah, I know Magneto will more-than-likely be balanced, but MvC2 online was painful.
