Because this year has essentially turned into a renaissance for the fighting genre, do you feel that this is going to help or hurt the sales of Blazblue. I know I'll be picking up Blazblue day one, but I'll also be picking up King of Fighters XII and Tekken 6 in august. A lot of people I know have said they are going to stick with street fighter 4 even though they are interested in Blazblue, which bums me out.
Blazblue competition?

While SF4 was the "big release" for fighting games this year due to the SF series having so much name power, I personally don't see interest in that game hurting potential sales for other fighters down the road. Gamers tend to be a fickle bunch and from what I hear some people are already getting tired of SF4, so by the time BB hits stores I think people will be in the mood for a fresh new experience, which is what BB offers. If anything I think SF4 might actually help sales for BB, because it got a lot of people (especially casual players) interested in fighting games again.
I do think it'll be interesting to see how BB and KOFXII affect each others sales. They're both new HD 2D fighters with online play that are being released for PS3 and 360 very close to each other, so there could be some potential competition there. I plan on buying both games myself, but it will be interesting to see if other people feel the same way or if folks generally go for one or the other.

Blazblue to me at least, seems to have gain more attention and those wanting a console release are in luck. I mean look at the features we getting for the console version! However, if the game is not well known, even if it is of superb quality, won't sell very well or be overshadowed by say Halo, Killzone or something along those lines of over hyped games.
I'll admit, King of Fighters has alot of fans (thanks to Mai lol), and would be competition of sorts to Blazblue, but it comes down to graphics, playability, online features and capabilities and personal taste. I'll probably pick up King of Fighters XII on day 1 as well.
HD 2D sprites ftw.......;)
"What the hell is that?" "Its a liopleurodon. A magical liopluerdon charlie. It will show us the way to candy mountain." - Taken from Charlie the unicorn because having a magical liopleurodon are awesome, without one your truly miserable. By the way guys..................STARFISH LOVES YOU!Posted 2 years ago # -
@ Royel: Yeah, I'm one of those people who've become tired of Ken Fighter 4 (trading it in next month). Honestly I wish Tekken 6 could have come out instead (i love me some Tekken).
I guess since these fighters fit into the "hard-core" crowd the fact that it says "Made by ARC" actually means something to the demographic.
Still, SNK and KOF are both very respected names so yes, it will be very interesting to see how those two fare against one another.@Blood_Harvester: Yeah, but I meant relatively. Blazblue will probably not go gold (Million seller) but it might be very successful as far as fighters go.
Also, as a general thing, this would be a true renaissance of fighters if SNK released Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2
